In the desert country of the American Southwest, there are tall, thin sandstone formations, carved from centuries of wind, giant spires rising up from the desert floor. The Native American tribes of these areas called them "Prayer Perches" because the only creature who could reach the top of them was the Eagle, believed to be the messenger between Man and The Great Spirit. Here the eagles would build nests and raise their young. When the eaglets were ready to begin flight, it was from these prayer perches that they first took to the sky.

As these pages can only be reached through flight in cyber-space, and because the view from here is pretty incredible, this collection of Eagles images, contributed and maintained by members of the Eagles Mailing List, has been called . . .

To Submit Photographs:

The idea behind this site is to provide a central web page for list members to share photographs that may not show up well -if at all- in email programs.
If you have a photo that you would like to share with everyone else on the Eagles Mailing List, here is what you need to consider:

Would one of the existing sites' webmasters or mistresses like to put this pic up instead?
(it is not the intention of The Aerie to compete with the internet web sites dedicated to the Eagles. Your photograph might be welcomed by someone who has a site.)

The file must be in jpeg or gif format, and please try to keep it on the small side- although we want the detail to come through! Choosing between size & picture quality, go for quality always.

The file name MUST be in all lower case letters, and please try to refrain from using odd characters, such as !*-_, etc. Make it simple.

Include a name if you want to be credited, and if it is appropriate, a caption, which is also optional. In the case of concert photos, the date and arena, song being performed, etc. would be a very good idea, but is not necessary.

These photographs are going to be archived, and so, in the future, should a person new to the list wish to go through the older postings here and select files to use on a web site they are developing, use of this site implies an agreement to contact the originator of the photograph in question for permission to use the file. This is why your name and email address are requested in the event that you submit something.
